About me

BIOGRAPHY

I was born on August 5th, 1955 in Lakewood, Ohio, a western suburb of Cleveland. I am one of seven children and have two sisters and four brothers. I am the father of three girls and the grandfather of two boys and two girls.

I went to Catholic elementary and high school, graduating in 1973. I enlisted in the Marine Corps and served very unspectacularly in a very boring capacity.

After discharge I worked for a couple of years with my father in a convenience store. That's right, a convenience store.

My mother worked for the post office and talked me into taking the test... for which I will never forgive her. I started there in 1979 and have worked... scratch that... have been EMPLOYED... there ever since.

In the mean time I fell in lust with Sandy and we married in 1978. Our daughters followed shortly. Sarah (b. 1979), Elizabeth (b. 1983) and Rebekah (b.1986), are the pride and joy of our lives though they now regret not having picked out more financially sound parents. They are all very beautiful girls and I am happy to say very level-headed considering their upbringing. Sarah and Elizabeth have begun pumping out grandchildren while Rebekah has supposedly pursued educational interests at Ohio University.

In 1990 we left "the big city" and moved out into the country. A decision I have never regretted and we have been here ever since.

INTERESTS

You're looking at one of them. I love my mistress. I mean my computer. My family will gladly attest to my devotion to her. I particularly enjoy learning to work on and writing my web pages. I also enjoy surfing the Internet and writing to pen pals through email. When I have more time I would also like to learn a little programming. There's so much to learn!

I also enjoy other writing. Erratic Writer, AntiPostal, and PostAge are my other web sites. Most of the writing on these sites is humorous and much of it is about my career in the post office. One of my life-long dreams is to write a published novel and see my name on the cover of a book. THAT would be so cool!

Another hobby is Where's George. It's a money tracking site. You mark the web address on a bill and people enter the bill on the site when they get the bill. Some people have entered over a half a million bills! I'm nowhere near THAT crazy but I am currently ranked about 725th nationally and 32nd in the state of Ohio.

I have a small coin collection as well as a few select bills. Nothing worth any money, mostly just pennies I saved when I was a paperboy. I pull odd coins out of pocket change and save all Sacagaweas, Susan B. Anthonys, state quarters, wheat pennies and new buffalo type nickels. I'll be grabbing the new president dollar coins when they come out as well.

You may have noticed so far I haven't even gotten out of my chair!

But I also enjoy gardening. I have a large vegetable garden and in years past have entered vegetables in the county fair. At various times I have had one daughter or another work with me in my garden. That is such a joy!

I've also been known to get out of my chair and toss around a softball now and then. One year I played on five softball teams at the same time. I've slowed down over the last few years (in more ways then one) and I now play on just one or maybe two teams. A few years back I started playing co-ed and was joined on the team by my youngest daughter. Another joy!
